EXTENSIVE DAMAGE

Tornado Sweeps District Sydney, Oct. 11. A tornado swept through the Manila district, causing damage amounting to thousands of pounds. Sweeping along a quarter of a mile front, it demolished sheds and fencing and killed a large number of poultry and livestock. , On one station the homestead was destroyed and others were unroofed. Numerous barns, woolsheds, and garages were demolished. At Kiori the railway siding was smashed to pieces. Twenty telephone posts were broken, and both electric and telephone services were put out of action.
