Business at Quarterly Meeting A large attendance of officials from all parts of the circuit was present at the quarterly meeting of the Taranaki Street Methodist Circuit, which was held on Monday evening. The Minister, Rev. T. R. Richards, presided. ! The meeting stood in silence while motions of sympathy were passed for the bereaved of the -late Rev. . Baumber and the late Mr. John Priestley. . • The membership returns for the circuit were:—Taranaki Street, total of <i4o; Brooklyn.'22s; Webb Street, 4o; Aro Street, 69. ~ The statement, of income and expenditure as presented showed that under somewhat adverse circumstances very creditable work was being done, special mention being made of Webb Street and Aro Street. . ~ A resolution was passed conveying the appreciation, of the meeting of Mr. and Mrs W. E. Howe, as superintendents ot Wesley Sunday School, for their untiring work and fidelity of service to the .church. The reports upon young people s work and of the work and fruit of the recent Youth to Youth Campaign were very encouraging. ... ■ , It was reported that the position of foreign missions showed a general depletion in funds, while that upon home missions showed a more satisfactory state of affairs. , It was unanimously decided to invite the Rev. Mr. and Mrs. Richards to re : main for their fifth year at Taranaki Street. Several members eulogistically spoke of the hand work that Mr. and Mrs. Richards were doing in such difficult 'times, and reference was made of the. appreciation of listeners-in of services broadcast by Mr. Richards. . The Rev. Mr. Keall was also unanimously invited for another year at Brooklyn. while under an existing agreement the Rev. Mr. Brady continues his services at Webb Street.
