N.Z. KENNEL CLUB
Year of Unusual Activity “The past year has been oue of unusual activitv,” stated the report of the New Zealand Kennel Club, which was presented to the annual meeting on Tuesday. “It is with pleasure and satisfaction that we record that tbe Kennel Club of England has been pleased to grant affiliation to us, a distinction we may fairly claim to be proud of.” A movement was started last year with the object of linking up the various specialist clubs with the all-breed clubs in the town or district where same exists and function. ' This hast been particularly successful in Auckland, where the N.Z. Fox Terrier Club. Auckland Bulldog Club, Auckland Alsatian Club. Auckland Toy Dog Club, N.Z. Collie Club, and the Auckland Provincial’All Terrier Club have affiliated with the Auckland Kennel Club. A better understanding nnd a harmonious condition has resulted, and the system has tended to cement the units nnd unite the fanciers in a common cause. The registrations and transfers recorded during the year had totalled 1396, a number higher 'than that for any year since 1920. Officers were elected, as follow-Presi-dent, Mr. N. Wade (Auckland) ; secretary, Mr S..H. Rasthll (Wellington); executive. Messrs. W. C. Leversedge and W. M. Jack (Christchurch). D. D. Wilson (Hamilton!. D. T. Sinclair (Dannevirke). D. H. Edgar (Wellington). A. G. Bette (Nelson), and G. Hunt (Auckland) ; auditors. Messrs. Henry Kembcr and Son.
