FUNDS FOR A HALL
Entertainment at Newbury To raise additional funds in aid of the Newbury Hall, a gathering was recently conducted at Newbury settlement, Palmerston North, when there was a favourable attendance. An entertaining programme had been arranged, consisting of the following items: — Vocal solos, Mr. Calloway, Mr. Fanne and Mr. Whitelock and . Miss Freda Doherty; humorous recitation, " Miss Constant; Irish jig by Miss Jean ScOtt, accompanied by Piper Godbaz; recitation, by Master Billie Shannon. The accompaniments were played by Mrs. M. McLeod and Mrs. Whitelock. Mr. A. McCulloch acted as M.C. Supper was served by the ladies’ committee, and extras for the dances were played- by Mr. A. Ronberg, Mrs, E. A. Shaw, and Mr. N. Wood.
