HEAVY FIGHTING
Chinese-Tibetan Conflict Calcutta, August 13, Anxiety is felt in Lhasa, capital of Tibet, regarding heavy fighting reported between Chinese and Tibetan forces on the borders of tho Szechuen Province. The trouble is a perennial legacy from the foilure of the tripartite conference between Britain, Tibet, and China in 1914 to roach a final settlement of the dispute between Tibet and China regarding the claims of both to administer a portion of what was formerly Tibetan territory.
