SENATE’S VOTE
A Defeat for De Valera MANUFACTURES CONTROL i (Rec. August 11, 8.50 p.m.) ■ Dublin;' August 11. The Senate sat specially to consider the Dail’s rejection of its amendments to the Control of Manufactures Bill. The Government was defeated by 24 votes to 17 on a motion “that the Senate do not insist on its amendments,’> meaning that If the Dail disagrees the' Bill will automatically be delayed for eighteen months.
