LACQUER COIFFURE
Keeping Hair Neat Dominion Special Service. (By Mavis.) London, June 22. Because of the vogue for hatless heads, hairdressers are working on a coiffure that will stay tidy, though wind-swept. One new creation, as a result, is the “lacquer coiffure,” in which the curls and waves look as though they had been sculptured out of stone, a Grecian idea.. -... ...... A lotion, almost as stiff as varnish, and equally waterproof, has been devised as a “setting” fluid for a waterwave. Once the wave is fixed with this lotion, no storm on the sea will disturb it. Hair powders are also a new tangle in the web of fashion. Platinum blondes who have had their hair bleached to a silvery tint are dusting it with coloured powder for evening wear. Green powder on such hair causes a pale complexion to take on a delicate peach-bloom rosiness. Mauve powders cast a yellow shadow on the skin and counteract a high colour.
