Big Chicago Area Swept LIVE STOCK.DESTROYED Chicago, August 4. , Fire swept through more than two blocks of buildings near the SouthWest Side, Chicago’s industrial area, on Thursday afternoon, causing damage estimated at more than six million dollars. K ' The Omaha Packing Company’s plant was virtually destroyed with a toss estimated at five million dollars. Two firemen and a spectator were injured, and 3000 hogs, 800 cattle, and 700 sheep were burned alive.
