BRIDE COLLAPSES

Auckland Wedding Postponed WAITING GUESTS Dominion Special Service. Auckland, August 4. Forty people waited at the Domain Kiosk last evening for a wedding breakfast to begin; an orchestra was ready to play, the tables were decorated with flowers anjl maidenhair fern, silver reflected the electric lights overhead, and cakes and savouries were arranged in a tantalising way. At 9.30 the guests were still waiting. Then word came that there had been a hitch and the wedding had not taken place. 1 Perturbed and disappointed, the guests started for their homes. The wedding breakfast, or much of it, was presented to the Auckland Hospital. The wedding was to have taken place at St. David’s Church, Khyber Pass, at 7 p.m., and when the hour drew close a number of taxis and private cars had parked in the locality. At 6.30 a girl arrived at the church to announce that the bride was seriously ill and that the wedding had been postponed indefinitely. The minister who was to have officiated received a telephone message shortly after 6.30 announcing! that the wedding had been postponed. A friend of the bride said this morning that at 5 o’clock last evening the bride collapsed. She had been ill for sometime, and was now in bed and a doctor was attending her.
