A ferry boat carrying Mohammedan labourers across the river Noakhali, in East Bengal, was swamped by a tidal bore and 216 were drowned. There were 31 survivors.
A Calgary message states that Mr. J. S. Woodsworth, Labour member of the Canadian Parliament for Winnipeg North Centre, has been elected president of the newly-organised Co-opera-Hva Commonwealth Federation.
