YESTERDAY’S WEATHER
Bright Sunshine in Wellington Cloudless skies and bright warm sunshine prevailed in Wellington yesterday until late in the afternoon, when a cold wind sprang up from the south, bringing heavy banks of cloud. No rain fell, however, but the night was cold. The weather at Auckland was unsettled but tine in the morning and cold and squally in the afternoon. There was a south-westerly wind. There was a frost of 1.4.9 degrees at Christchurch yesterday morning, followed by cloud and sunshine till the early afternoon, when hall and rain showers were experienced. The balance of the day was fine, with a bitter wind from the south-west The maximum temperature was 47 degrees A cold south-west wind blew with gale force at Dunedin and was accompanied by frequent rain and sleet squalls.
