Match Against Auckland ' ' HOME TEAM CHOSEN F. D. Kilby Leads Side Eight “All Blacks” are included in the, Wellington Rugby football team chosen by the sole selector, Mr. J. N. Millard, to meet Auckland at Athletic Park tomorrow afternoon. The team is as follows:— Liiburne (Hufct). Ball (Hutt), Macdonald (Marlst), Faller (Eastbourne). Pollock (Petone), Page (Wellington). Kilby, captain (Wellington). McLean (Wellington). Keld (Petone), Martin (Petone), McPherson (Poneke), Barry (Hutt) Diedrich (University), Lambourne (Petone), Jessep (Poneke). Emergencies.—Backs: Tindlll (Athletic), Killeen (Hutt). Neal (Poueke). Forwards: Quald (Poneke), Lameson (Old Boys). Auckland Team Arrives. The Auckland touring team, which defeated Wairarapa at Carterton on Wednesday, and is to play Wellington tb-morrow, arrived here at midday yesterday, and had a practice at Athletic Park in the afternoon. Another practice will be held this morning, after which the team to play Wellington will be selected. All the members of the party are reported to be fit. The team has Mr. F. E. Sutherland, the Auckland sole selector, as its manager, and Mr. M. Johnston as masseur. W. Batty, who was not available for the matches against Hawke’s Bay and Wairarapa will join the team here. After the game against Wellington the team will leave for the south to play against Otago, Southland, West Coast, and Canterbury. The following players are in the party :— Full-back, Heazlewood; three-quartere, Caughey, CornUiwaite, Pearson, Clarke Milliken; five eighths, Macindoe, Jamieson, Berridge; half-'backs, D. Carter, M. Hadley, COLLEGE TOURNEY To be Held at Nelson The annual Rugby football tournament, with the first fifteens from Christ’s College, Wanganui Collegiate School, Nelson College, and Wellington College as the participants, is to be held this year at Nelson. The Wellington and Wanganui teams will leave Wellington by the Matangl on Thursday, August 18, and the first matches will be played on Saturday, August 20. The following programme has been drawn up in connection with the tournament :— • August 19.—Short entertainment in AssemibJy Hall, 8 p.m. August 20.—-Christ’s College v. Wellington College, 1130 p.m. Wanganui Collegiate School v. Nelson College, 3 p.m. Dance in Assembly Hall, 8 p.m. August 22.—Losers v. Losers, 1.30 p.m. Winners v. Winners, 3 p.m. Dinner to teams, 6 p.m. The Wellington and Wanganui teams will leave on Monday night, August 22, for Wellington. HONOUR TO ALL BLACKS Wellington Club Evening 1 The Wellington Rugby Football Club is proud of its record in having three of its members in the New Zealand team, and its appreciation of the fact as well as of the splendid record of the players is to be shown to-morrow evening, when a special evening is to be held in the Dominion Farmers’ Institute in honour of F. D. Kilby (captain of the New Zealand team), H. F. McLean, and J. R. Page.
