Vice-Regal. Their Excellencies Lord Bledisloe and the Lady Bledisloe yesterday afternoon paid a visit to the two unemployed relief camps of returned soldiers at Paraparaumu., Ministerial. The Hon. R. Masters, Minister of Industries and Commerce, will leave for Christchurch to-morrow evening, and he will open the Winter Show there on Saturday evening. He has a number of engagements in Christchurch connected with the departmeats under his control, and he will return to Wellington next Tuesday morning. The Hon. E. A. Ransom, Minister of Lands, accompanied by the Post-master-General and actlng-Minlster of Employment, Hon. A. Hamilton, will leave for Dannevirke to-morrow, where they will address a large meeting of farmers and businessmen the same evening. The gathering has been arranged by the local branch of. the Farmers’ Union. Mr A. M. Burns, manager of the Christchurch "Press,” arrived yesterday from the south. Mr. N. H. Cowper, of Christchurch, was among the passengers yesterday from the south. i Mr. Reginald Gardiner, of Hawke’s Bay, returned to Hastings yesterday after a brief visit to Wellington. Dr. J. A. Dunn, of the Indian Geological Survey, who has been visiting Wellington, left for New Plymouth yesterday. Mr. E. C. Hands, general manager for the Radio Broadcasting Board, left for Auckland last evening on a brief business visit. Major-General W. L. H. SinclairBurgess, General Officer Commanding the New Zealand Forces, left for Christchurch last evening. He will return on Friday morning. Mr. D. McKenzie, the Mayor of Petone, was thanked for his past services by the Wellington Education Board in advising him of his reappointment as one of the representatives of the board on the Board of Managers of the Petone Technical High School. Mr. H. F. Nicolly of Ashburton, president of the New Zealand Trotting Conference, left Wellington by the Limited express last evening en route to England. Mr. Nicoll’s health has not been good in recent months and the trip is being made partly on that account. He hopes to return to the Dominion about the end of the year. Mr. O. M. Henrlcl has been appointed evening announcer at radio station 2ZW, succeeding Mr. F. W. Barker, who has been acting-announcer since the resignation of Mr. L. E. Strachan. Mr. Henrici has had considerable experience in the choral and orchestral world in England, where he has performed, among others, with the London Bach Choir. Mr. Ivon V. Wilson, who has been chairman of directors of the N.I.M.U. Mutual Insurance Company from its inception in 1928, has been appointed general manager, taking up his duties as from August 1. Mr. Wilson has had a long and varied experience in the motoring and motor insurance world, having been a member of the executive of the Wellington Automobile Club for the past six years, before which he was secretary of the Wairarapa Automobile Association for some fourteen years, during which time he also acted as secretary-manager of the Wairarapa Automobile Association Mutual Insurance Company from its inception until 1926. Mr. R. H. Le Pine, Napier; Mr. D. Taylor, Palmerston North; Mr. J. Goldie-Anderson, Dannevirke; Mr. H. Coston and Mr. W. Wilson, Auckland; and Mr. J. Rossell, Christchurch, are at the Grand Hotel. Mr. Tracy Gough, Christchurch; Mr. F. Kirby, Auckland; Mr. W. G. Fry. Mr. W. H. Fry and Mr. H. G. Hume, Masterton: Mr.. C. B. Sineox, Wanganui ; Mr. W. G. Carter and Mr. W. G. Black, Palmerston North; and Mr. C. C. Holmes, Manakau, are at the Royal Oak Hotel.
