SMALLER POWERS

Voice in Disarmament London, July 14. The principal naval Powers are being moved by the smaller European Powers to revise the treaties of Washington and London, to ensure that the smaller Powers shall not abandon their interests to the Great Powers without some share of control. Delegates from Belgium, Czecho-Slo-vakia, Denmark, Holland, Norway, Spain, Sweden and Switzerland, have forwarded to Dr. Benesh, rapporteur to the Disarmament Commission, demands for a complete abolition of bombing aeroplanes in all parts of the world; the cessation of training bombing pilots; limitation of the weight of aeroplanes to 1600 kilogrammes for land machines, and 2000 for seaplanes; the prohibition of bombing attachments to planes; the limitation of tanks to 155 kilogrammes; and the abolition of chemical and biological warfare.

It is also suggested (the Geneva correspondent of “The Times” states) that there should be permanent organisation for the control of disarmament, the making of preparation for future conferences, and the regulation of the manufacture and sale of arms.
