Navy League Branches ART UNION WANTED Speaking at the meeting of the Wellington branch of the Navy League yesterday afternoon, the secretary, Mr. R. Darroch stated that the Wellington, Canterbury and Otago branches were hoping to obtain permission for an art union for they were in need of finance. Colonel N. S. Falla was appointed vice-chairman, and the education committee was set up as follow: Messrs. A. Walker, W. W. Bird, W. A. Armour, W. Perry, and J. T. Grose. It was decided that the parcel of clothing usually ,sent to England for the relief of the families of the naval and merchant service men should not be sent this year, but that the goods should be used for local relief. Mr. Darroch reported on his tour of the Wairarapa, in which he visited 32 schools, and stated that for the third year in succession, Hadlow and Matahiwi schools had obtained a Navy League membership of one hundred per cent.
