“MERELY A HOAX”
Bomb Under School Platform London, July 27. The brothers Davenport, Maurice and Basil, against whom summonses were dismissed on charges of placing an explosive under the platform of the St. Bee’s School at the prize-giving by Lord Lloyd on June 18, are sons of a former Mayor of Macclesfield. Counsel described the affair as merely a hoax. The so-called' bomb was a poor harmless ,toy containing a small quantity of the stuff used to frighten horses at the Battle of Crecy.
