COAL DEADLOCK
No Unconditional Parley OWNERS DENY REPORT Dominion Special Service. Auckland, June 23. It was stated on the Waikato coalfields to-day that the mine-owners had agreed to the holding of an unconditional conference on Tuesday next, provided that the men first resumed work. “ENTIRELY INCORRECT” Denial by Mr. T. 0. Bishop “The statement by Waikato miners that the mine-owners have agreed to an unconditional conference on Tuesday, provided the men first resume work, is entirely incorrect,” said Mr. T. 0. Bishop, secretary of the New Zealand Employers’ Association, last evening. “The mine-owners have not agreed to anything of the kind, and I know of nothing which would give rise to the report.”
