DOUBLE MURDER

Warrant for Wanted Man “NO CHANCE OF ESCAPE” (Rec. April 15, 7.50 p.m.) Sydney, April 15, A warrant was issued to-day for the arrest of William Fletcher, alias Moxley, on a charge of murdering Francis Wilkinson and Dorothy Denzel. The police arc convinced that their man is hiding in some scrub in the Liverpool district, where the atrocious crime was committed. They declare he has no possible chance of escape. A man answering his description early this morning visited a dairy at Bankstown and said: “For goodness sake give me a drink.” Dogs were put on him, and ho disappeared in the darkness.

Large parties of civilians are helping in the search.

Described as one of the most revolting crimes in the history of New South Wales, Miss Dorothy Denzel and Mr. Frank Wilkinson were murdered in the bush three miles from Liverpool. The bodies of both were found buried in shallow graves some little distance apart. The motive of the crime is a complete mystery. The only theory is that the person or persons responsible for it wanted to steal Mr. Wilkinson’s car, which was a sporting model, nnd that he put up a fight, was rendered unconscious, and killed. The girl was then gagged and finally killed in order to escape nil possibility of identification. The community is thoroughly stirred by the crime.
