Trance Medium in Court CHARWOMAN’S EVIDENCE (Rec. April 15, 5.5 p.m.). London, April 14. . Interesting evidence was given during the hearing of an action for libel by Mrs. Meurig Morris, a well-known trance medium, againfet 1 the "Daily Mail,” which suggested that all her sermons were similar and her subconscious mind was crammed with spiritualistic jargon which she could hang on any text. A charwoman in Mr. Laurence Cowen’s bouse at Harrow said that Mrs. Morris visited the house in 1929 every evening, and used to co to the library. The charwoman said that she heard Mrs. Morris trying to imitate a man’s powerful voice, and she heard Cowen sav: "A little bit clearer, my dear.” Cowen later said: “Thais good.” The charwoman said she thought Cowen and Mrs. Morris were rehearsing a play. Mr. Laudstone, the business manager of the Fortune Theatre, in evidence. said, that he heard Mrs. Morris apparently rehearsing Power's sermous iii Cowen’s room. The statement caused Mrs. Morris, who was in the court, to weep bitterly. moaning: “It’S dreadful.” Friends tried to soothe her, but finally she was led from the court still protesting.
