Successful H.B. Function TO AID CHILDREN Waipukurau, April 15. Under the auspices of Toe 11. a Charity Ball to assist in raising funds for the Hawkes Bay Children’s Homes in Napier proved a brilliant success, aud is considered to be the most successful function held here for some years. Thanks to the generosity of the Waipukurau people, the expenses were reduced to a minimum and the homes will benefit to the extent of about £4O. The stage of the theatre, serving as a lounge, was covered by theatrical decoration and scenery, and bowls of roses aud dahlias, the whole effect being in pastel shades of pink and Among those present were: —Mcsdames J.
