A SLEEVELESS PULLOVER DOLL’S SIZE
I shall not give you very definite measurements for this cosy little jumper, which is very easy to make, because dolls vary in size and you must make it to fit your own one.
Cast on about thirty stitches (or more, if necessary) on No. 10 needles. Knit twelve rows in one purl one plain stitch, then change to No. 9 needles and knit in stocking stitch or garter stitch until dolly’s armhole is reached. Thon knit fifteen stitches, and put the remaining fifteen on a big safety pin. Begin to knit over the shoulder by decreasing at the neck end of your row of fifteen stitches. Knit two stitches together after slipping the first stitch of the row every time you are beginning the row from the neck end, until you are over the shoulder. Then break your thread and knit the other shoulder in the same way. Cast on as many stitches as you need to make up the original number of thirty, with what you have left on either shoulder, and knit down the back until it measures the same as the front, down to the ribbing. Then change to No. 10 needles and knit twelve rows in one purl one plain. Sew- up the sides as far as the armboles, measuring the exact place on dolly, and there she is equipped with a smart, sleeveless pullover, just like yours.
