CORNWALL v. NAVY
Cadets Win Boat Race VERONICA CREW BEATEN The final event in this week’s competitions between the Federal Liner Cornwall and the Navy was a boat race held yesterday between a cadet crew from the Cornwall and the regatta crew of H.M.S. Veronica. Bad weather conditions prevailed, but the race, rowed from Clyde Quay to the Cornwall, a distance of half a mile, was a close one from start to finish, the Cornwall winning by half a length.
The crews were: Cornwall —Osborne (stroke), Warner (4), Byford (3), Green Kelly (2), Rawlins (bow), and Ramsdale (cox). H.M.S. VeronicaWinch (stroke), Gerrard (4), Malone (3),.Berry (2), Miln (bow), and Pettyofficer Taylor (cox). The Cornwall cadets have won all sections of the competition, Rugby, fencing, and rowing, against, H.M.S. Diomede and H.M.S. Veronica.
