RIGHTS TO FISH
Anglers’ Interests PROTECTION QUESTION “It is time steps were taken to protect the rights of anglers,” declared Mr. R. H. 'Nimmo at a meeting of the Acclimatisation Society last evening, when drawing .attention to a reference in the report of the Civic Inquiry Commission to the Whakatikei and .‘Little Akatarawara rivers. The commission had suggested the possibility of tapping these rivers in order to provide the city with an additional water supply. A Member: If the water is required that is the end of it. Mr. Nimino: They can use all the water they like, but we want to be able to fish in the,rivcrs. Some steps should be taken to safeguard our rights. The question was referred to a committee.
