Reid, was held tit I’etone. under the auspices of the Heretatinga Boating Club on Saturday. Result, from Worser Ray. proved the winner. The course wtts from the Patrick Street buoy to a mark off the wharf, to the Somes Island gap. to the wharf, anti back to the Patrick Street buoy, aud the starters were: Result. Rongomai, Sawsee, Idyllic. Lonesome. Butterrib. Idle Along and Kea. The crew of Result showed good seamanship when their spinnaker "skied” near Somes Island. With the boat heeling over and water pouring into the cockpit, the ere" climbed out on to the ceiitreboiird aud balanced the boat, until it came round into Hie wind. While they were trying to get the spinnaker down the boat blew over again, but was righted witbout further trouble. After rounding the mark oil the wharf. Result drew away from the other bouts on the run. and was first through the gap. Hie Lonesome being her nearest attendant. On the long beat to windward these two boats were practically on terms. Result winning by two lengths. Result’s time. 48min.. was a record for the course, being Imitt. better than the previous record, held by Rongomai.
