EAST HARBOUR TOURNEY Further Results of PlayFurther events in connection with the East Harbour tournament at Eastbourne were continued yesterday. In the men’s handicap singles, Burbidge (40) beat Bolt (40), 60—53. The final of the women’s champion-

ship singles between Miss M.' Macassey and Miss Davidson will be completed at a later date. SECONDARY SCHOOLS Girls’ Singles Championship The two outstanding players among the Wellington secondary school girls are two sisters, Jessie Burns and Vera Burns, of Petone, both pupils at the Hutt Valley High School. In whatever girls’ singles event they are competing, they usually end up by opposing each other in the final.

Recently Vera beat Jessie, 6— l, s—Ci,5 —Ci, 11 —9, in the final of the Wellington secondary schools girls’ championship. This win reverses the victory gained by Jessie over Vera in the final of the Hutt Valley High School girls’ singles championship. That match was also a three set one, and took a very long time to play. There is scarcely anything between the two girls in the standard of their play, and they are definitely the two best junior girls in the Wellington district al present. They have an admirable chance of reaching the final of the junior girls’ singles in the New Zealand championships, and together should have little difficulty in winning the junior girls’ doubles.
