John Martin, labourer, aged 31, and Charles Barrett, labourer, aged 45. pleaded guilty to being found unlawfully on enclosed premises at 140 Tory Street. Each was fined £2, in default seven days’ imprisonment. Stowaway Found ‘,‘This.man was found in the firemen’s wardrobe 15 minutes before the Marama sailed on Friday.” said DetectiveSergeant Tricklebank, referring to John Chapman, labourer, aged 38. who admitted a charge of stowing away. The Detective-Sergeant said that accused explained that he wanted to get to Australia, where he might find work. A fine of £l, in default, seven days’ imprisonment, was imposed.
