AULD MEMORIAL CUP Secondary Schools’ Tourney On Thursday, Friday and Saturday of last week the North Island secondary schools Soccer tournament was held at Blandford Park, Auckland, when teams from -Wanganui, Manawatu, Auckland, and Wellington took part in the annual North Island contest for the. "Skcrrett Cup in the senior division and the “Herbert Smith Trust’’ Cup for the junior division. The football displayed by the various competing teams was of a high standard. The Wellington team in the junior division, although beaten by 3 goals to 1, put up a fight against heavier opponents that was u\ delight to watch. With the Auckland senior team Wellington played splendidly anti shared honours in a game that will be long remembered by drawing, one goal all. The entertainment of the visiting teams was well catered for. The annual meeting of the North Island Secondary Schools’ Football Association was held on Friday (evening, when important decisions regarding the secondary schools were reached. The meeting was followed by an informal conference of all delegates, both secondary and primary, when a full discussion ensued in regard to the future of the North Island primary schools’ tournament. The presentation of the cups (the Skerrett Cup being held jointly b’ Auckland and Wellington) was made by Mr. IT. S. W. King to the captains of the Auckland and Wellington teams. The senior division game was of such a high standard that the Auckland authorities expressed the wish to play in Wellington this Saturday. The challenge was accepted, and the teams will be seen in action nt the Basin Reserve to-mor-row afternoon, i(nd at the Kilbirnie Si.tdinm at 10 a.m'. on Monday. Nineteen players and two managers will comprise tho party, which will arrive at 12.38 to-day. Auld Memorial Cup. The Auld Memorial Cup will be further advanced to-morrow, when Diamonds will meet Seatoun at the Basin Reserve. Diamonds are the present holders of the cup, and are fully determined to hold possession for another year. Seatoun, who have been playing great football in their last few games, are fully confident that they can again defeat their opponents. They have a young and clever team that can keep the .pace a fast one from start to finish. Extra Fixtures. Intermediate Divifon: Marist O.T>. 4th v.
