All-round Decline Shown The vital statistics for the mouth which ended yesterday show a falling off ail round on the figures for August, 1930. There were nir.e less births, 37 fewer deaths, 25 less marriages by notice, and six fewer marriages by the registrar. The following arc the figures for August, 1931. the returns for the corresponding month of .Inst year being given in parentheses:—Births, 17S (IS7) ; deaths. 105 (142) : marriages by notice, 89 (114).; marriages by registrar, 20 (35).
