Conclusion of Conference
The Post and Telegraph Officers’ Guild concluded its first annual conference in Wellington last Saturday. A motion was carried approving of a proposal (hat the guild should make no requests which would involve additional expenditure to the department. The following officers were elected: — President, Mr. J. W. Furrie, Assistant Postmaster, Wellington; vice-presidents, Messrs. S. C. Mahon, Auckland, and E. E. Wallace. Timaru; general secretary, Mr. E. J. Smith, Wellington; auditors, Mr. J. J. Knight and Mr. V. B. Cade, Wellington; central management com mil tee, Messrs. A. Hoffmeister and D G. Cody (head office), T. C. HobbsJones and R. B. Reynolds (postal branches), Mr. E. W. Rudman (savings bank). Mr. H. Miller (telegraphs). Mr E. 11. R. Green (engineers), Mr. F. Wilton (stores). Mr. J. D. Magee (gen ernl division), Mr. P. F. A. Coira (sub postmasters). The retiring president, Mr. J. M. McLean, was appointed editor of the journal.
