CLAY BIRDS

Hutt Club Matches Members of the Hutt Valley Gun Club fired the concluding matches of the season on Saturday under unpleasant conditions. ' The first match of the after-, noon was a 21-bird handicap trophy event which ‘ resulted in three competitors tieiug'for first place. In the shootoff J. Brasell (12yds.) secured the trophy, with F. Searle (14yds.) second, and Dr. G. F. V. Anson (12yds.) in third place. The second match, one of 15 birds for the Tisdall Cup, was won by W. J. H. Haase, shooting from the 20 yards mark, with 13 birds. F. E. Cox, a visitor from Taumarunui, and H. Smith (17yds.) tied for second place with 12 birds each. The Sheet match of 14 birds was won by C. Moore with 12 birds, and F. Searle and H. Smith tied for second place with 11 birds each. Saturday’s results are as follow, handicaps being in - parentheses:—2l-bird match: J. Brasell (12), 18; F. Haase with 179 birds, the run-ner-up being H. Smith with 170 birds. A, Scott was third with 168 birds, Dr. G. F. V. Anson fourth with 167 birds, and H. H. Morris fifth with 162 birds.
