Brownlee, called for the militia. A detachment ot the Strathcona horse was rushed in a special train from Calgary and was held in barracks. At Calgary a score of the unemployed Invaded restaurants, refusing to pay after securing meals. They were arrested, but a mob stormed the police headquarters in an attempt to release them. The crowd, however, was dispersed by repeated police charges. At Druniheller, Alberta, the whole of the town council was arrested on the complaint of men out of work and charged with failing to provide for the unemployed, as provided by the criminal code.
