“REFEREE BARRACKED”

Incident at Soccer Match In the fifth grade game between Seatoun and Miramar Rangers at Seatoun on Saturday, the Rangers, possibly through having no coach with them, became somewhat unruly and behaved in a manner which will probably bring down on them the displeasure of their club and possibly the boys’ management committee. Mr. A. E. Caisley was the referee, and he takes a great deal of interest in the boys, instructing and assisting them in everv possible way, and the boys are usually appreciative. In the game under notice the boys were from 12 to 15 years of age, and early in the game showed resentment of any control. The referee cautioned them, but their conduct did not improve. He talked to the boys after the match, and told them they must think of the future of the game and not of themselves. Mr. Caisley then went to conduct a senior game, whereupon the Rangers players, or most of them, stood on the bank and barracked the referee for a while as the game proceeded, but. left before the finish. ... The club will be informed of what happened, and a member of the boys’ management committee will probably report to the next meeting, so that the matter may be dealt with without bringing it before the W.F.A.. which would be a serious matter for the boys.
