Sydney, May 5. Business at the Commonwealth Bank has become normal, while the number of necessitous cases being dealt with at the State Savings Bank have dropped very substantially.
Scores of cases of hardship still exist among depositors in the State Savings Bank, and so desperate is the plight of many small tradespeople whose savings are impounded there indefinitely that a percentage are attempting to sell their passbooks to the highest bidders in order to-obtain ready cash to meet their bills.

Plight is Becoming Worse
London, May 4.
The New South Wales Agency General is still without Instructions in regard to London depositors in the State Savings Bank, whose plight, especially that of tourists, is daily becoming worse.
NO NERVOUSNESS
Victorian Bank Business
Melbourne, May 5.
Deposits in the Commonwealth Bank showed an Increase, and there is no sign of nervousness in Victoria.
