TAITA GORGE ROAD

A special meeting of the Hutt River Board will be held this afternoon to consider a letter from the Main Highways Board concerning the road scour in the Taita Gorge. It is understood that the Highways Board contemplates restoring the road to its former condition, and the advice of the board will be sought as to the best means whereby the locality can be protected from similar damage in the event of any future flood. • Consideration will also be given to how the work shall be carried out and by whom undertaken.
