POLL MUST BE TAKEN Negotiations concerning the western access, question have been brought to a standstill by an intimation from the Alinistcr of Public Works that a poll of ratepayers is necessary before the proposed tramway extensions can proceed further. . , , , , A ratepayers’ petition was handed to the City Council earlier in the year protesting against the extension of the tramway along the new street, Bowen Street, the proposed extension of Bowen Street, and Sydney Street, connecting Lambton Quay with Tinakori Road and the variation of the duplication of the tramway track in Tinakori Road and Glenmore Street between Sydney Street and the Karori tunnel. This petition was forwarded to the Alinister, who has now replied that a poll must be taken before anything further may be done.
