The annual meeting o-f the Cheviot Trotting Club will be held to-day. Some of the fields are on the large size, but the racing promises to be of an interesting nature. Te Aike was second to Ratloc at Banks Peninsula, going .3.32 2-5, while Vagabond King ran fourth. Little Victor ran third over two miles at Ashburton in December, going 4.40 2-5. which is approximately 2.55 for 10 furlongs. Little Victor may be favourite. The first-named won in her only start last year, going 3.49 2-5, and defeating Esbine from off the same mark. Esbine won over two miles later in the day, and has since shown fair form. Arthur Thorpe ran a couple of thirds at Kaikoura last month. Element may receive most support. CHEVIOT TROTTING CUP (in harness), of 125 sovs. Class, 4.52. Two miles. Vican has raced pretty consistently this Beason, and at Grtymouth in January defeated Lomar and Ruth Logan. 1 Netta Oro won at Tlmaru over 12 furlongs in 3.27 1-5, while Oxford Queen was successful over two miles at the Banks Peninsula meeting on March 7, in which race Netta Oro ran fourth.
