Application for Wage Increase The fixing of wages for Wellington motion picture projector operators was referred to the Arbitration Court a meeting before the Conciliation Commissioner, Mr. P. Hally, on Friday. The unioli applied for an increase m wages and for other alterations in existing conditions of employment. The employers filed claimes for reductions in wages, and increases in the hours of W °Mcssrs. H. W. Shortt, W. Burton and T. Robertson represented the employers, and the union was represented by Mesfcrs. J Read, A. Wilson and C. Read. Mr. W. Mountjoy acted as agent for the emclaimed that since the last award was made the work of operators had increased owing to the introduction of the talkies. The employers did not agree that there was more work under recent conditions, and wage increases were objected, to on account of the depression and falling off in business.
