MONDAY’S WRESTLING
Bucht v. McDougall Wrestling patrons in Wellington, well known for their quick appreciation of skilful work on the mat, can look forward to something very much to their taste on Monday night next, when “Scotty” MacDougall meets Martin Bucht, leading Russian grappler, In a special bout at the Winter Show Stadium. MacDougall’s prowess as a wrestler Is well known here, although it is not so well known that George Walker told a Wellington enthusiast when the season was at its height last year, that he considered MacDougall the hardest man iu New Zealand to stack up against. Coming from Walker, this is high praise. Bucht, on the other hand, has not been seen here, but he turned on a great show at Auckland last week, in full keeping with the reputation lie made in Australia. His extraordinary elusiveness is bound to be commented on here, as it was in Adelaide. He escapes from almost anything, aud proceeds without a moment’s warning to clap on a combination that rivals the combined tenacity of an eight-inch vise and a fairsized octopus. The contrast in style on Monday should be interesting In the extreme. The match is in aid of the earthquake relief fuuds and is a joint venture on the part of the New Zealand Wrestling Association, Wellington division, and the Commercilal Travellers' Association. From the purse down to the printing and labour, all expenses are being met by the. two organisations, leaving the gross free for earthquake purposes. Excellent preliminaries will precede the big match, and Mr. Robert Semple, M.P., will be the announcer. Tickets are on sale now, aud are selling rapidly..
