STRIKERS DISBAND
Police at Emerald Camp SEARCH FOR FIREARMS Brisbane, February 3. The police visited the strikers’ camp at Emerald and searched for firearms. The striking’shearers were ordered to disband. Most of them returned home. The police also ordered the release of two men held prisoners by the strikers. Various meetings by a two to one majority favoured declaring the strike off. Shearing has commenced at several stations.
A previous piessage stated that militant shearing strikers had made Emerald their headquarters.
