As showing something of the labour position in Upper Hutt, a member of the Borough Council stated last night that he called lenders for a £4OO job. Of the twenty-seven tenders received, one only was from a Upper Hutt man. “Perhaps they are all too hard up to contract,” said the Mayor, Mr,— R. Robertson. z
