mynheer van klaes smoked 60 YEARS. In IS7I Mynheer Van Klaes died prematurely at the age of 81. For sixty years he smoked incessantly. He estimated bis lifetime consumption of the divine weed at about four tons. In New Zealand there are smokers who are sanguine of rivalling, if not eclipsing, this achievement. There is one well-known resident of one of our larger cities. He is now 86, but still bale and hearty. Except for meals his pipe is never out of his month.
