Employers’ Federation
MR. A. C. MITCHELL The appointment of Mr. A. O. Mitchell as president of the New Zealand Employers’ Federation In succession to the late Hon. T. Shaller Weston, M.L.C., was made at a meeting of the Advisory Board of the Federation yesterday morning. Mr. Mitchell Is a director of the firm of Messrs. Jas. J. Niven and Co., Ltd. He will hold
office until the next annual meeting of the federation In October. For the past 20 years Mr. Mitchell has taken an active part in the affairs of employers’ organisations, having been several times president of* the Ironmasters’ Federation of New Zealand and for 15 years vice-president of the New Zealand Employers’ Federation. Mr. Mitchell’s appointment was unanimously endorsed by every member of the Advisory Board and requests that he should accept the position had been made to him by the presidents of the Auckland, Wellington and Canterbury Associations of Employers.
