The figures for 1929 were 582 building permits of a total value of £367,918. In 1930 the number of permits had decreased to 412, the total value being £252,7,08. The engineer reported to last meeting of the borough council that 152 inspect tions of works in progress were carried but during December. The number of building permits issued for that month was 29, of a total value of £10,730. The figures for December, 1929, were 46 building permits of a total value of £23,518.
