Loose Methods in Sydney LARGE SUM OUTSTANDING Sydney, January 26. The Sydney City Council recently ordered an inquiry into defalcations amounting to £2OOO in rent collections. The council owns considerable property. The Town Clerk has now received a report, revealing the loss of £2OOO in rents for 1930, and making a scathing criticism of the loose methods adopted in the control of the city’s jxssets» It is pointed out that £200,000 loss represents the slump in rental values of the council’s properties, which include a number of hotels and business sites. ’
