The' annual cricket match for the Brabin Cup between Auckland and Wellington junior representative teams concluded at Eden Park yesterday, the match resulting in a win for Wellington by 167 runs on the first innings. The weather was perfect and the pitch was playing true. With five wickets down for 109 runs from the previous day’s play in reply to Wellington’s first innings score of 316, Auckland resumed its innings, and the total was taken to 149 before the side was dismissed. Auckland, with a deficit of 167, was forced to bat again, compiling 280 runs. Angus was top scorer with 72. Wellington needed 114 runs for an outright win, but at stumps the score read 72 for three wickets.
