About the Province
The Dannevirke Chamber of Commerce is drawing the attention of the Post-master-General, through the member for the district, Hon. E. A. Ransom, to the fact that there is only ai tri-weekly mail service from Pongaroa to Dannevirke, whereas there is a daily service from longaroa to Pahiatua. A request is being made that arrangements be made to have a daily service by car with Dannevirke.
“I wish some wise educationist would clamour for the placing on the curriculum of our schools the teaching of logic, said the Ven. Archdeacon Creed Meredith at the prize-giving at the Wanganui Technical College. “Most people have their thoughts and opinions framed tor them.” ",
In future, Wanganui, together with Rotorua, will observe the Tuesday fob lowing Labour Day as a holiday instead of Easter Saturday.
The engineer reported at yesterday’s meeting of the Wanganui County Council that the Parapara Road was m a fair condition and that an engineering survey is being made _ on Parihauhau Road by the Public Works Department. The formation work on the Wangaehu Hill is expected to be completed early in the New Year.
