Rowing Championships DOMINION REGATTA Subject to the approval of the New Zealand Amateur Rowing Association, it was decided at a meeting of the Wellington Regatta Club last evening that the New Zealand rowing championships tor the 1930-31 season should be held at XV cllington on Saturday, February 28. The committee decided to include an extra event, the Welter Junior Fours, and it is expected that this will prove a very popular race. The total prize money to be distributed is £l5O. The following officials have been appointed Starter, Mr. M. A. Turner; umpire Mr. IV. R. C. Oswin; judges, Messrs. I? S Innes, G. Lauchlan, A. S. Bayfield, H. Paton, and C. F. Turner; timekeepers, Messrs P. N. Denton and G. C. Sherwood; clerks of scales, Messrs. L. Drummond, V. Dunne, and R. A. Dincoin. The detailed programme, with prize money, is as follows: — Junior single sculls, one mile; first -to, second £2. Maiden pairs, one mile; £5 and £-. Lightweight maiden fours, one mile; ~s and £2. Championship pairs, one mile and a half: £lO and £3. Maiden fours, one mile: £0 and £J. Championship singles, one mile; £8 and Welter junior fours (lOst. "lb. limit), one mile; £8 and £2. - Championship fours, two miles; £3O and Youths’ fours, one mile; £8 and ; e3 - Junior fours, one mile and a half; Championship doubles, one mile and a half: £lO and £3. Consolation fours, one mile and a halt, Bridsou and Pearce Challenge Cups will be awarded to the winner of the junior and senior singles respectively.
