Charges of Idleness.—Lawrence Nacey, labourer, aged 29, and Joseph Daley, fireman, aged 29, appeared before Mr. E. Page, S.M.. in the Police-Court yesterday on a charge of being idle and disorderly persons in that they had insufficient lawful means of support. They were remanded until to-morrow. In making the application Sub-Inspector Lopdell said that the accused were found in circumstances which might involve another charge being laid against them.

New Presbyterian Church.—The foundation stone of a new Presbyterian church costing £3200. of which half is already in . hand, was laid at Te Aroha yesterday, (states a Press Association message). The ceremony was performed by the Rev. Geo. Budd, Moderator of the General Assembly.
