BIBLE SOCIETY

Mrs. Alexander Low presided at the annual meeting of the Roseneath-Oriental Bay branch of the British and Foreign Bible Society! which was held at her own home at Roseneath. There was a good attendance. . , , . , Mrs. Low was unanimously re-elected president, and warm appreciation of her "Teat interest and splendid support was expressed by those present. Mrs. Bird was re-elected secretary, and was accorded a hearty vote of thanks for her secretarial work. The following collectors were elected. —Mesdames Creed, Kyle, Bird, Low and Melvin, Miss Clark, and Sister Maud The president introduced Mrs. Porter, who gave an outline of the work of the last vear throughout the world, emphasising the spiritual results of the work, whitb could never be calculated, but wee a wonderful inspiration to all who helped in anv way in the great world-wide work of the society. In the course of her address she mentioned the national aspect of the work. Mrs. Porter was accorded a hearty vote of thanks. The president dispensed a delicious tea, during which much interesting conversation took place with regard to the varied experiences of the women colle<The president warmly thanked the collectors for their self-sacrificing and fine work.
