The Hopetoun Cup for the world’s championship standing chop was won for the third time by R. Radford (Tasmania), who narrowly beat L. Appo, of Sydney. There was a great surprise when the Fraser brothers, of New Zealand, sawed brilliantly, and won the double-handed sawing. Results of finals: —

Single-handed sawing championship (eighteen inches): S. Turnbull (Tasmania), 1; E. Turnbull (Tasmania), 2; Blanks (New Zealand), 3. Time, 3min. 43 2-ssec.
